In past years I have bought deerhides from the local hunters.They are very skilled at keeping the hides undamaged and as big as possible. This shirt was made from some of the very best I collected. The front and back yoke are made from a single hide. It is very unusual to find a hide that is so perfect and large. The style of this shirt is traditional and the garment folds completely flat. I was especially happy with the way the fringe looked. It is cut in the old style... very thin and sinuous. I dyed the ends of the fringe black so they would give a depth to the finished garment.
