In the publishing world the term tear sheets refers to unbound pages of a published layout. As an artist, I treasured these beautiful professional presentations of my finished work. They were such valuable additions to my portfolio. I enjoyed the professional flair that they added to my portfolio. The magazines that I had the priviledge to work with were considered trend setters for their time. Sharing my designs with readers gave me particular pleasure. As is mentioned elsewhere in the text of my porfolio, I was never reluctant to share the many shortcuts I had learned as well as techniques necessary to create well designed items. My many teachers, after all shared them with me. I always felt that making actual copies of someone else's work is boring. The real fun for me always came in digesting the basics and then taking it a step or two farther in order to make it my own. |
