"It was a hot afternoon. I was standing under one of my grandmother's weeping mulberry trees eating the berries that the birds hadn't gotten to yet. A convertable pulled into the driveway. It was red. It had big fins... and it had leopard seat covers, It was Frankie's car. He was one of my grandmother's younger brothers. His wife josephine, who looked just like Sophia Loren, was leaning back against that leopard print with one arm resting on Frankie's shoulder. It was wonderful. My mother just looked that way she had of looking, and in her famous sotto voice, said, "Extreme!" She always said that whenever her Patrician sensibility was ruffled. Whenever she said it I had to be sure to take a good look at what she was commenting on because it was bound to be really neat. Years later, sitting in my own car I began to wonder how a leopard steering wheel cover would look...
To make this vision a reality I used Photoshop, Freehand, and Quark.
