The original Maryelizabeth was hand drawn in pencil on a dark, wintery day in December, 1994. She unexpectedly manifested herself as a gawky, mysterious creature. Once some color emerged, her sweeping diaphanous wings became green and a pink bow festooned her poofy orange hairdo. Originally she appeared as a double image with each figure holding a gold rolling pin, but over the years she has been modified, simplified and streamlined into the image that appears throughout the Maryelizabeth's edibleart promotional materials as shown above. She exemplifies good taste along with a zany, ethereal quality intended to delight and fascinate her fans.
